A legal practitioner, Okechuckwu Effoduh, has described as illegal tweets by Nigeria’s minister of state for labour and employment, Frstus Keyamo, in which he shared the private chats and phone number of controversial musician, Eedris Abdulkareem.
Similarly, Twitter has deleted some of the tweets by the minister for allegedly violating its rules.
Effoduh, who reportedly shared his opinion on Clubhouse, also said Abdulkareem has sufficient grounds to sue the minister for defamation and claim as much as N100 million in damages.
He said however that Keyamo too could sue Abdulkareem for using his music to defame him.
Keyamo had in a series of tweets today tackled Abdulkareem over ‘Jaja Jaga Reloaded’, his recently released song.
Keyamo has now deleted the tweets and reposted some of them.
One of the tweets had contained the singer’s contact which he used to send him text messages in 2018.
Checks by NewsmakersNG showed that Twitter took down three tweets from Keyamo’s thread.
“This tweet violated the Twitter Rules,” the microblogging site wrote in a terse post.
It, however, did not explicitly state which of its rules was violated.
