The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has issued advisory notice on how to stay safe in stormy weathers.
The advisory was issued in view of recently observed violent rainstorms.
According to the agency, the outlook is that we should expect more heavy downpours with intense lightning flashes.
To avoid risks to lives and property, NOA urges members of the public to follow these safety tips when there is a thunderstorm:
- Avoid taking shelter under metallic structures.
- Don’t hold metallic objects.
- Don’t use a mobile phone when it’s raining.
- Switch off your TV set.
- Stay away from transformers and electronic objects.
- Stay away from mirrors and glass objects.
- Avoid taking baths when it’s raining.
