Mallam Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari is dead, says a statement from the Presidency.
The statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, says: “The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”
The late Kyari tested positive to the novel Coronavirus on March 23. He issued a statement on March 29, on his plan to move to Lagos for treatment. He was admitted in a Lagos private hospital where he died receiving treatment on April 17.
